Congratulations Don! So, now we know what you’ve been up to this winter…
Mark MallamoParticipantHi All,
We’re in the process of putting together an organized ground school for this year. Still some details to be worked out but stay tuned for more information.
If you haven’t purchased or downloaded (for free) the FAA Glider Flying Handbook, it would be a good place to start.

Mark MallamoParticipantStay tuned for information about possible ops next weekend & New Year’s Day chili & 1st flights.
Mark MallamoParticipantWinch ops will start at 11am tomorrow. Dress warmly!
Mark MallamoParticipantFun day of flying for those who came out. We had 12 winch launches with 2-33 Stars & Stripes. Winds out of the west were giving us consistent 1000-1100 foot launches. Special thanks to Tim Ponsot and Kees Van de Klippe for operating the winch. Larry, Gary and I instructed and everyone who showed up was able to get at least one flight. A very enjoyable day. Will there be more spring weather in December??? Stay tuned…
Mark MallamoParticipantHow many times do you get to fly in December when it’s above 40 degrees? Come on out!
Mark MallamoParticipantCongrats Jim! Day Member flights for you next season!

Larry and new member Logan enjoyed a 35 minute flight in Stars & Stripes after an 800’ winch launch. Today should be another nice day to fly, however, our tow plane is temporarily down for a maintenance item.
Mark MallamoParticipantJust spoke with Larry Kase. We’re planning to get started at 9am tomorrow with winch operations. Please get checked out on winch hook-up & wing-running and retrieve vehicle driving if you haven’t done so yet–we need volunteers for these duties. Aerotow will also be available if requested. We’d like to have the Krosno and Stars & Stripes prepped and ready to go by 0900. Should be a nice, crisp fall day so come on out to fly!
Mark MallamoParticipant24 flights on Sunday. Congrats to Bobby Kramer who flew his first solo flight in our 2-33 Pumpkin! Aaron Mazeika and I got a bird’s eye 🦅 view of Bobby’s solo landing from 2000 feet up in the Krosno—looked good! Longest flight of the day honors goes to John Lincoln who was up for a little over four hours in his glider. How do you do it John?? Thanks to Gary Palumbo and Aaron Mazeika for towing most of the day. Gary, Larry and I instructed and many other members & junior members assisted with wing running, retrieves, flight board, etc. Special thanks as well to Mark Reich for treating us to lunch from McD’s (once again) this weekend. We owe you Mark!
