We had 13 flights today. It was a beautiful day out at the gliderport, very light winds nice, puffy clouds.

That’s a good idea Tim.  I will be out at the field around 9:30
to meet a prospective new member.  Weather.gov is saying showers
and thunderstorm, mainly after 4pm. Otherwise mostly cloudy. Calm
winds. We could get some flights in the morning and early
afternoon depending on cloud height. Anyway, I’ll be there and I’m
pretty sure our newly checked out towpilot will to.

Saturday was a challenging day for Soaring. It was mostly a blue day until around 3 PM when we started to get some cu’s popping. Finally, we had some lift that brought a few of us up to near 7000 feet. It was a hot one but we all stayed well hydrated.Just to change things up a little bit. We also had a car show at the club today.

Congratulations to Nick Legenza! He came to us as a young 14 year old student. He soloed, got his Private Pilots License in Gliders at the age of 16, then got his Private Pilots License in power and is now working on his Instrument Rating. Nick was checked out as towpilot yesterday and towed 11 gliders up. Well done young man! We look forward to Nick towing for the remainder of the summer.

We’re checking out a new tow pilot in the morning and should be finished by 1030-11am. Tows can start then.

Gents, I checked with the developer of the software that we are
using for our Sky Soaring “Reply By Email” forum messages. He
wrote, “The purpose of the cutoff line is to avoid long email
chains in the post body. Especially since bbPress already has a
nested reply option (which RBE respects).”

If you wish to quote a previous message, you will have to copy and
past that text into your reply message. See the example below.
Probably best to paste it at the bottom of your reply message.

We had a great Soaring day yesterday, lift above 7000 feet. John D had a three hour flight and John Lincoln had a very long flight as well. I’ll be out there today mowing, if anybody needs a tow come on out. Skysight says there will be lift to 6000 feet today.

It’s Thursday June 8th and SkySight says lift to 7000 ft. We have
a towpilot and an instructor available. We have 6 club aircraft
available to fly.  Play hooky from work and come on out to Sky
    Soaring. Goto bookourplane.com and
    schedule your aircraft.
