Speaking of volunteers. Before we run the Hustler very much longer we MUST replace both the oil and hydraulic fluids along with the associated filters.

All the items needed have been purchased and are in the garage area in a cardboard box.
Honestly I am unsure exactly how to do this. Any mechanically inclined blokes have a clue?

Yes, I agree that this is not about accidents at Beloit but the overall accident rate in soaring. Of the soaring accidents in the last 1-3 years, have more happened at commercial operations? I think that I will raise this point on the RAS netnews group and see what the pundits say.

    Gentlemen,

When asking about flying on a certain day, please made sure to say in the subject line which day you are referring to. “Tomorrow” quickly becomes confusing!
    Thanks!

I believe it still applies that attending each year the Sky Soaring safety meeting is required by all Sky Soaring members. If you attended the Chicagoland Glider Council’s seminar on Feb 23rd, or another aviation safety meeting, this will also count.

Also for beginner pilots it is important to have practical knowledge of the assembly of a glider which is part of the FAA’s “PRIVATE PILOT Practical Test Standards for GLIDER” (link below). Helping during assembly day fulfills this requirement.

    You should be there!

Here is the synopsis of the talk. Should be good.

Prepare to take off with new details of a momentous historical event you thought you knew. Hear this new history about Wilbur and Orville Wright, their early years of trial and error at Kitty Hawk, and the hidden details within original archives and family letters that reveal that Wilbur was actually the “Wright” brother who cracked the secret to aerodynamics and achieved liftoff in 1903.
    Presented by Author William Hazelgrove.

Dick – Thanks for the offer. Another member offered using our two 4WD trucks to “tamp down” the snow but your front end loader would be a better choice to clear a decent path. I can meet you out there on Friday parking along Getty Rd. How about 10AM? Thanks again. – John OHM <span class=”ILfuVd NA6bn”>Ω

Reminder that the CLGC meeting is tonight at the Schaumburg airport. We will be raffling off five (5) SSA calendars!

We often eat at Pilot Pete’s beforehand.
