John DeRosaParticipant
I found the “old” lock in the office. It seems odd that this lock was freezing up on the temporary construction gate while it never did on the old gate. I am going to put a rubber piece on the shackle to deflect water and try to prevent this in the future. Time will tell.

John DeRosaParticipantI believe that the “mile high” option is a good idea and will not greatly impact our tow operations.
Other clubs – Several clubs that I know of have this “mile high” option and they report those rides to be about 10% of all their “day member” rides. As we had a total of 57 day member rides in 2019 this would mean about 6 of those rides would be a mile high.Time – A 3,000ft AGL tow takes about 10-15 minutes round trip. The additional 1390 ft to get to 4,390ft AGL (5,280ft MSL) would probably take an additional 15 minutes round trip.
Bottom line – All our “mile high” tows would add up to a YEARLY total tow time delta of about 1-1/2 hours. Not very much.

Secretary, ChicagoLand Glider CouncilJohn DeRosaParticipantThe AT&T guy was at the field around 11am today and talked with him as I was leaving to drive to MN. He said he would let someone at the desk know what he found. Anyone know if it was fixed?
John DeRosaParticipantI will be out to assist if there is an operation.

John DeRosaParticipantDenny – No photoshopping involved here. At one point, as Don points out, the private glider trailers were staged at the SW corner of the field. They moved to their current location due to the needs of the winch operation. The club ships never moved.
