Has everyone received their October Soaring magazine?

I received my copy.  GREAT article by one of our day members about his ride at Sky Soaring!  Art must have made quite an impression.

Everyone spot the error?  Oh, well, no one’s perfect.  😉

Any guesses when this took place? What glider are they flying?

That’s the Krozno. The picture with the glider trailers parked on the west end of the field. It’s been at least three years since we moved them to midfield I believe.

The tow would have been to 3900 feet.

i think Don wins Johns question….someone had fun with Photoshop and put
the trailers in the foreground of Route 20 and the SW windsock

Art flys a Krosno with an 80 foot wingspan ! Most Krosnos are 16.4 meter spans….. 53.8 ft.
                          Art is very good.

Don’t forget that a “professional” only needs a 1200 foot tow in order to provide a two-hour day member ride, especially when he has 80-foot wings.

Denny – No photoshopping involved here.  At one point, as Don points out, the private glider trailers were staged at the SW corner of the field.  They moved to their current location due to the needs of the winch operation.  The club ships never moved.

Bring your copy of the SSA magazine to the field and I will be happy to autograph it.
