If this is the canopy that was wrapped in paper in the loft, the paper said “RV-4” on it.

Mark MallamoParticipantOn a similar note, how will this effect prospective members? Knowing that the proposed special assessment is only in effect for 2021, they may decide to postpone applying for membership until the following year or simply decide it is too much and look at other options in the region.

Mark MallamoParticipantI agree that the engine overhaul fund is a problem and needs to be addressed. I would like to see our new board consider an “all of the above” strategy to raise funds that could include goals for increased flight activity including day member flights, increased membership, and perhaps a smaller “special assessment.” Given the current economic climate, I would have difficulty in covering an additional $400 in dues next season.

Mark MallamoParticipantRich and all,
I’m available anytime Friday. Let’s enjoy this Indian Summer while it lasts…
-Mark
Mark MallamoParticipantI’m available to tow or instruct tomorrow (Friday) if anyone wants to fly…
Mark
Mark MallamoParticipantAnd let’s not forget that just because a weather forecast doesn’t look good for soaring (sustained flying), it could still be an excellent day for training and proficiency flights.
Mark MallamoParticipantI could be there by around 1pm. We haven’t done much winching this season. Maybe we can use today as an opportunity to do some refresher/currency/proficiency flights…..
Mark MallamoParticipantStudents and members who need dual flights, let’s take advantage of those hours early in the morning as well as the late afternoon and early evening as long as we have tow pilots available. We’re getting a late start this season, so we need to be flying as much as we can. The season will be over before you know it….
Mark MallamoParticipantAdding on to Friday and Saturday, Sunday was another fantastic day at Sky Soaring. We had another 26 flights today, bringing the weekend total to 64! We started early and ended late. New member Steve Kowall, had his first flights today after last flying gliders in Hinckley nearly 20 years ago. Several private ships had muli-hour flights, but the highlight of the day was Junior Member, Erik Schnaubelt, who flew the club PW-5 for nearly 5.5 hours and earned his Silver Duration award in the process. Big Congrats to Erik! Thanks to Don for towing and to Steve S. and Tim P. for instructing. June is here, so lets keep flying!
Mark MallamoParticipantAll,
Due to heavy rains yesterday evening, the field is covered in water once again. Unfortunately, we will have to cancel flight ops today and likely tomorrow (Memorial Day) as well.
Mark
Mark MallamoParticipantWe already have a few people reserving gliders on Sunday. I’m in need of a tow pilot by 9am for several instructional flights. Please schedule towplane on bookourplane if available to assist.
Mark
Mark MallamoParticipantI could be available to tow from noon-2pm.
