Hello:I booked a 1-26 on BookOurPlane (sorry Karl, I ceded to technology). I see that Andy also booked a glider. I need a tow pilot to book or show up. I can also assist with GSC, wing running, tracking flights or even ground school topics as an AGI. Art will be there. A tow pilot is needed for the certificated pilots. A CFI for students will also be helpful. July is almost over so lets enjoy the summer.Regards,Rich
Rich WalendaParticipantHello:
Sunday weather: Sunny, with a high near 80. North wind 5 to 10 mph. I can GSO, wing run and/or fly.Anyone want to set up a small operation?Regards,RichRich WalendaParticipantHello Barrett:You need to speak with your CFI to see if they are available. You need a tow pilot. This is AirVenture weekend so many members are out of town. Then you need a GSO and wing runner. It’s a group effort. Today we had minimal staffing and a small operation. I have not heard from anyone wanting to fly tomorrow.Regards,
Rich
Rich WalendaParticipantHello:
Today we had 5 flights. Thank you to Mr. Scott for towing and Mr. Vaughn for CFI duties. Mr. Silverman was the perfect GSO. Tim Gaither took 3 flights. I got 2 flights in, including one with my son! No lift to speak of. Average 3 k tow was a 16-18 min flight. Mr. Reich handled the board. All assisted in golf cart tow and wing runner duties. Not a bad day with scattered clouds and about 85*F.
Regards,
Rich
Rich WalendaParticipantHello: We have a CFI-G, tow pilot, GSO and decent weather. Stop by and fly.Regards,
Rich
Rich WalendaParticipantHello:
I can come out and help and fly Saturday morning.
The weather:
Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 83. North northeast wind 5 to 10 mph.
Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 81. North northeast wind 5 to 10 mph.
METAR TAF for Saturday morning:
Wind 12mph from the North/Northeast; Visibility: 6 miles; Scattered clouds at a height of 2500 ft
Broken clouds at a height of 3500 ft.A question for students: What is the cloud clearance requirement for the airspace that Sky Soaring is in for STUDENT pilots?Regards,Rich- This reply was modified 1 year, 3 months ago by Rich Walenda.

Rich WalendaParticipantHello:Thanks to all who worked on Pumpkin’s brake issue, tow pilot Nick, CFIs, wing runners and GSOs and everyone else who helped out doing anything and everything after the meeting. Not much lift but the flights were ok.Regards, Rich
Rich WalendaParticipantNot to hijack the thread – did anyone check on the gliders and field tonight? We had some major damage in Elgin this evening from the twister/possible tornado. I can not access the cameras to see if things are OK.
Rich WalendaParticipantHello:

Rich
Rich WalendaParticipantHello:I am working Monday protecting the freedom of Americans and making things difficult for criminals so I am unavailable until late afternoon. I have Tuesday and Wednesday off and am willing to fly, wing run, be Ground Safety, etc. I can also teach an in person ground school as an AGI if anyone has any topics that they want to cover. Its a rainy day so open the FAR/AIM and read a few pages to brush up…Regards,Rich
Rich WalendaParticipantI can bring the training aids and run a short course. Certificates will be issued.
Rich WalendaParticipantSaturdayShowers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 4pm. Patchy fog before 8am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 85. West southwest wind around 5 mph becoming southeast in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
