    Art,

I believe there is at least one hot plate in the lounge at SSI.

The heaters will be run prior to the meeting but will have to be turned off during the meeting.  They are simply too loud to run while the seminar is under way.  As we tell the Scouts – Dress for the weather.  Layer up.  Bring a blanket.  Get some Bernie Sanders mittens.

    Best Regards,

    John F. Phelan

    Art,

What’s included in the buffet breakfast?

The 10-day forecast is calling for temps in the low 50’s on March 25th.

OK.  So how do we turn it on/off when it is in a glider?  DeRosa indicated it will power up with the master switch in the glider but this seems to contradict that.

    What am I missing?

DeRosa would have a better answer but I don’t think there is anything to charge on the OGN boards.  They need aircraft power to run.  I don’t see any battery on the board in the photo that DeRosa sent out.

You can buy self-contained buck converters on-line for $12.

One caveat, ….the LilyGo TTgo T-beam module for OGN transmission, (as shown in picture), will not power directly from the 12 volt buss in SSI gliders.A small power “buck-converter” circuit module will also be needed, to bring 12 volts down to about 5 volt to feed into the OGN module…(it has a USB port accepting 5 volts)

And how do we test a strut?

There are plans to work on removing the Pawnee struts, test them, and then reinstall them.  Some heavy work is involved so having a few extra hands would be useful.

But George Santos is a founding club member, according to his resume.

The use of our Sky Soaring membership forum is solely for aviation related news, in particular about gliders and soaring.  It is not to be used for other topic areas.

Looks fake.  Photoshop?  I’ve never seen an SSI project where there wasn’t at least 1 person standing around.  Where is George Santos?  He’s the World’s Greatest Fabric Doper.  I’m calling B.S. on this!

John P. Won’t your rocket fuel chili remove the decals and paint? 🤣

I prefer to hold off on removing the decals from pumpkin until we are certain we will be painting the nose.

It will remove a lot more than that if you’re standing down-wind.  I’ll let it rest until I hear back from the group on the painting plans.

    See you on Sunday morning.

    Best Regards,
