Not covered in above seminar recap, a question:Does it benefit the Club as a whole, if a Patron member carries their own liability insurance, and a damage coverage to club aircraft ? ( often called renter’s insurance). (This is separate from the private ship insurance requirement.)

Is there any help needed at the Hanger for setting up any hardware to host the ZOOM portion of the 3-25-23 club safety meeting?

If so, is help required on Thurs or Friday beforehand?

The Krosno sure is a beast to assemble. Without a stabilizing cradle…..impossible.Many heavy pieces…Wonder if the designers ever thought this glider would be taken apart a lot without a support jig set

Yes,  that was a good presentation by  Stephen Brown. Good overview of hangups during transitions to higher perf gliders or lower performance gliders. SSI has the transition Quizzes he mentioned having.

The OGN boards DO have a battery on board, bu can’t see it, its mounted on backside in a holder because its a Tubular Lith ion (looks like a Big AA)  with about 3400 to 3700 milliamphour capacity.  It can be recharged thru the onboard USB port.So to unit is somewhat stand-alone.

One caveat, ….the LilyGo TTgo T-beam module for OGN transmission, (as shown in picture), will not power directly from the 12 volt buss in SSI gliders.A small power “buck-converter” circuit module will also be needed, to bring 12 volts down to about 5 volt to feed into the OGN module…(it has a USB port accepting 5 volts)

Oh yes.. And that’s a Condor development team problem.

Ironically, in my work-industry years I saw much of that behavior from the SW dev teams i ( as hardware development guy) was surrounded by.

Ah, its a known problem.  Too bad Condor SW writers cannot correct any file-issue like that, since they wrote the code. Of course, what incentive ($$) would they have? Thanks Steve

Sorry to hear i missed the date of the OGN base site install….didn’t know it was happening & when. With over 40 years of radio & wlan communication equipment design, I could have enjoyed that. The base site RX antenna style, gain, pattern, loc,… key details in that unlicensed band.
