Dennis BurkeParticipant
John, your message came thru OK, using the old SSI website message forum. It was not blocked nor backlogged, which is good. DB
Dennis BurkeParticipantIf you haven’t noticed Rich, those who have been towing this year have not been showing reserve for 72L on “Book Our Plane”. That website is up, however.Dennis BurkeParticipantFlying WX conditions to the new members: We have on on-field weather station that has a web-link you can view with tablet or mobile phone.

you should have been briefed on calling-visiting: 1800WXBRIEF.com or Rochelle AWOS at 815-562-2955 for weather observation.
Dennis BurkeParticipantMike, a friendly reminder. If you are towing any particular day, please fill out the “bookourplane.com” website and reserve the Pawnee N8572L for the # hours you want. That way, other members reserving club craft will see you are available to tow.
Dennis BurkeParticipantIt was good to see / learn how a regatta starts, with many (+9) gliders on the Grid, and observe a gaggle. And of course see Steve, JB, and other enthusiasts.
Dennis BurkeParticipantTim, I am hoping Friday weather will be good for ops
Dennis BurkeParticipantHi, sorry I cannot make the Monday annual MD picnic this year, will be out of area. DennyDennis BurkeParticipantI never heard back from any Members on the question of the “Bookourplane” application that we are supposed to use.
I can’t get it to operate , on my devices this year. Anyone having similar problem?
Dennis BurkeParticipantI planned to be at field Sat, can rig. Maybe get a checkout
Same for Sunday , but gotta leave by 1:30p
Dennis BurkeParticipantIf its not too late, if any of SSI’s certified instructors , or Flight Chair, are making any presentations at the Safety meeting, I would like to ask if there can be reviews of some safety circumstances (scenario-based) specific to our Field Ops. Such as, multiple gliders in need of the landing pattern: when more than one XC flights all end, and basic instruction short-flights are still going on. Another is the “out and back” T.O. and Ldg method, which is specific to SSI.
Dennis BurkeParticipant<div>On Rich’s thoughts, I would have loved to fly more in 39E and 82H , but another knee failure (left) messed up my remainder 2023 soaring wishes. Same thing happened to me for last half of 2022 season.</div>
<div dir=”auto”>Maybe I’m wrong, but my understanding is there is no hull insurance for these 2, so it can’t be an insurance cost steering a sale.</div>
<div dir=”auto”>That “rule of Easy” mentioned will get modified to “Less than easy” for the Club fleet, having the new tie-down locations near midfield. DB</div>Dennis BurkeParticipantAny “ridge soaring ” done in the Mich UP near Ironwood or Bessemer? There’s quite an upslope where Indianhead & Powderhoen ski resorts were. -
