I’ll be back Tuesday and it looks like a good day to fly. Any takers?

I just checked the weather for Tuesday Aug. 3. It looks quite good. Lift 3 to 4 knots to 5000 AGL. Winds 3 to 5 knots out of the NW. Cu’s most of the day. Lets get an operation going. John Lincoln

Still looking for a tow pilot for Tuesday so Don can fly his glider. John Scott is not available. Anyone else?

I contacted Geoff Weck and he can tow but only between 1200-1330 hrs only. To maximize flights get everyone staged and ready, including the tow plane!
Best RegardsJohn DeRosa

Did someone forecast good soaring? Must have been Petr! A BIG shout out for completing his Silver Duration with 5 hours and 12 mins. Also Silver Altitude gain of over 1k meters, 3,281 feet. Still waiting for confirmation on the distance. Oh, and John L was over 5 hr 20mins. Nick is a step closer to his checkride with 3 flights today. And Andy brought smoked walleye from Wisconsin after his 4 week vacation. Thanks to Geoff and Don for towing.

Wednesday should be close if not quite as good so come on out. Tow pilots are ready and waiting.

Tuesday was good. I saw Petr up near Poplar Grove early around 1:00 and again later near Galt airport. I also flew with John DeRosa from south of Poplar Grove to down near DeKalb. I saw a Genesis sailplane flying just north of DeKalb. I don’t have any idea who it was though. Congrats to Petr. His flight may qualify for all the requirements for a silver badge except landing at an airport away from the home base. Hope today is just as good. Enjoy this good weather while it lasts. Hot and humid is going to make a return next week. John Lincoln

Another good day. Jimbob was checked out to tow. Don was in the Krozno with Andy for an hour. John Scott flew the 1-34 since he came out to tow and had time to spare. Hey, 3 towpilots in one day. Nick was working on checkride prep for 45 min and I flew off to explore for 1 hr 30 min.
6 flights total with lift over 6k.

A fine day all around. I’m happy to render my service as a tow pilot so some of the other guys can play with their gliders.
