Message to the Board. I plan on using the DC to AC power inverter that came with the “Winch Project” ABT truck to add portable AC power to one of the golf carts. This can be used to power radio chargers, air compressors, the ground screw anchor driver machine or other power tools as needed far away from the hanger. Cost will be about $6.00 for some copper lugs I purchased, everything else we already have. I plan on installing this Thursday April 22nd. Greg Palmer

april 22/21 it’s day glider operation, we need two golf carts
please choose a rainy day for this installation. using the golf cart to recharge the radio
will eliminate golf cart from operations at the airport.plus who knows what the radio interference will be. We do not need an air compressor, we use a portable generator to install ground anchors maybe twice a year. our golf cart has reached the end of its service life,
installing additional devices does not make sense.

Hi Greg, I will have to agree with Andy, our golf carts are pretty much on their last legs. Andy has done a lot of work to keep them going. I don’t really think it is necessary to install an inverter on one. We do have a generator.

              Greg,

You probably already know this, but the golf carts are 36 Volt systems, with a set of six 6-Volt batteries powering the carts.  Just FYI for hook up of the DC/AC inverter.

              Best Regards,

                  Greg,

Many thanks for the idea and offer.  You have made many innovative things for the club over the years.  One important one is the tie-down anchor installer which is why having portable AC power is important.

How about making your inverter setup standalone with “jumper cables” on it?  Then, when needed we could pull up someone’s vehicle, open the hood, and draw power from our cars/trucks battery.  But we would **NEVER** want to do that temporary hookup to our DC powered golf carts as it would be far too easy to attach the cables to the wrong place and “let the smoke out” as they say.

                  Thanks again.
