The correct address for the Village Inn is 11713 Main Street, Huntley. It is not 1173.

Huntley ain’t that big and the Village Inn is smack in the middle of town. If you can find the runway when you get off of tow, you can find the Village Inn.

                Best Regards,

Thanks Mike for correcting the address. I guess i am not good at proof reading e-mails.
For those of you who cannot attend the meeting, there is a proxy ballot on the SSI web site that can be e-mailed to me at joodeo@yahoo.com. It is located in the Miscellaneous file.

On behalf of the Maintenance Committee, I would like to thank all our members that came to the annual meeting and those that then went to the field and help with disassembling the gliders and getting them stored in the hanger. We accomplished a lot.

The Pawnee did a 30 minute flight to verify that the ADS-B installation was working. The FAA confirmed the flight and the Pawnee is now 2020 compliant.
The PW-5 was put in its trailer and brought to storage.
The 2-33a Pumpkin was disassembled and stored in the hanger.
The 1-34 was disassembled and stored in the hanger.
The Krosno was disassembled and stored in the hanger.
The C-182 schrader valve on the nose strut was replaced and serviced.
The electric golf carts have been repaired, thanks to Andy C.
Two new tires for one of the carts have been ordered.

Thank you from the Maintenance Committee
                    Don, Gary and John D,

I had hoped to help with the ADS-b install, but last Monday, could not. The
clubs new ADS-b “OUT” is very important. As mentioned, it’s a 2020 mandate
for powered ops in Controlled airspace. Even more important, it’s a Safety
                        matter.
The GA glass cockpit revolution has GA pilots not looking outside enough.
As such, the ADS-b alarm will now go off in the GA planes if they detect
SSI Pawnee, making them aware of SSI operations as they tear through 55LL
                        territory.
If Pawnee is configured for the 978 MHz mode, the ADS-b Groundstations will
retransmit the Pawnee’s location info to all GA within 15nm of the
Towplane, which is great. The secondary 1090 ES mode is good if we were
operating inside Class B….which we are not, …and wanted to also be
detected by the big guys. Both modes on, is probably best.

In a way, the 15nm hockey-puck coverage helps the Private gliders if they
also only have ADS-b “IN” reception capability, since the same
groundstations re-transmissions help the gliders know who in General
                        aviation is occupying similar airspace.
