Thanks for the information Austen. It may indicate that there is wear on the components of the tow hook.  I am glad that Larry looked at it however it might be time to replace that tow hook. Tow hooks need to be in excellent working order and wear on the hook could cause a failure of the hook.

Can someone be at the club tomorrow
morning around 9:30? A guy named Gary will be there with a
trailer to haul away the soda machine. Please collect $100 from
him before letting him take the machine.

    Thanks

I’ll be there as well as Thursday Friday and Saturday.

Weather permitting I’ll try to out fly Lincoln 😁 if my bladder can go that long.

Yes, I’ll be out today and
Wednesday. I’ll  also see if I can get the new member out for a
couple of flights.  Also, with all the rain we had the grass is
growing again, maybe we can get some mowing done as well.  16
flights on Sunday. It was a good practice and training day.

    Monday weather:

Patchy to areas of shallow fog at outlying airports early this
morning will dissipate by 13Z-14Z. It's possible RFD has sharply
fluctuating visibility before that time if some of the nearby fog
seen on satellite expands slightly before dissipating.

A backdoor cold front will push into far northeast Illinois by 14Z,
turning winds northeast to east along with a quick uptick to
around 10 kt. A few gusts to 15-16 kt are possible through the
morning with this. Along this front will be scattered to broken
stratus/stratocumulus clouds. Confidence has increased some in a
period of broken MVFR this morning at ORD and MDW so have
included in their TAFs. Winds this afternoon will remain easterly
over Chicago with any stratus lifting to cumulus.

Concentrated smoke from western North America fires is drifting
high aloft over the area early this morning and likely will much
of today. This is expected to remain at a high enough altitude to
not impact any low-level aviation and it may not have impacts to
aviators aloft either, but just wanted to note that.

Winds will turn toward due south late tonight and be south-
southwest increasing in speed fairly quickly Tuesday morning.

Sunday looks like a nice day to practice your aerotows, airborne maneuvers and accuracy landings.  We’ll call it a AAA day 😁

Rich, it looks like your forecast is
holding up. Saturday will be a wash as low level clouds and rain
move through the area. Forecasts for Sunday show the rain moving
out however, with all the moisture we’ve had over the past week,
MVFR and maybe IFR conditions are possible for Sunday. We’ll
have to wait and see what Sunday brings. There may be a window
in the afternoon for some training flights if we can get some
    CFIG’s out.

Bob, feel free to call me and we can go over what you’ll need to do to get your add on rating and how the club functions.

We had one flight today. A possible new member did a FAST flight with Gary Palumbo.  High winds out of the NW made for a bumpy tow up until about 2500 then it got better above.

thanks to the few members that showed up and helped with a little hangar cleanup and ground crewing.

a special thank you to the Legenza family for grilling up the brats and dogs for lunch. It was a real treat.

Erik is off to flight training school in Duluth Minnesota for the next month. He’ll be getting his CFI and CFII. Join me in wishing Erik the best of luck.

I have put my name down for towing
this morning however, wind may play a factor in today’s flying
especially for solo students and trainees. Here is today’s
weather discussion. Note the part that talks about
    A
strong low-level jet core of about 40 kts near 1500 feet.
