Hoping for an early start. The heat index is expected to reach 95 by 1pm and 99 by 4pm.

      Hello:

Thank you tow pilots, instructors, pilots, and members for showing up at the field today.  I noticed that we had another cross wind at the field.  I flew. And I was happy that I flew and did not avoid the cross winds.  For the past 3 weekends we had cross winds.  We may always have cross winds…

According to AOPA author Dan Namowitz:  Please repeat after me: “There is no such thing as too much crosswind landing practice.” But there is such a thing as too little, as accident reports demonstrate. Crosswinds come in all intensities and from all directions, sometimes fading or strengthening or becoming erratic as altitude decreases. There are crosswinds that make you go around to land somewhere else, but there are no boring crosswinds.

Again, thanks to all who were at the field and made another safe day for training and fun flights.

      Regards,

      Rich

Thanks, Rich. It was a good day. 16 flights total. A lot of training (including crosswind takeoffs and landings). Thanks to Gary and Don for towing. A big CONGRATULATIONS to Nick for stopping by after successfully passing his ASEL certification.

Congrats Nick … it was nice to see you fly over to Sky Soaring after passing your exam. The skies ahead look very bright & promising… & you wore a really cool shirt.

Thank you John and Greg. I will definitely try to get as far into the badges as I can. My shirt is from pilotquarters.
