Yesterday an intrepid group of four workers (Don Grillo, Gary Palumbo, Larry Kase and yours truly) were able to complete the every-two-year recurring AD on the Pawnee’s wing’s lift struts.
This work consisted of removing the struts (all hands on deck!), using a Maule tester (borrowed from Larry) to check for internal corrosion (tedious but we found none!), inject oil into the struts to help prevent future corrosion (messy), and then reinstalling the struts (all hands on deck again!).
