The 2019 season officially got off to a start this weekend. We had a great showing at the Spring Safety Meeting on Saturday. After the meeting, many members headed out to the field. We were able to assemble 2-33 Pumpkin. I understand that maintenance work continues on the Krosno and 1-26, but they should be ready for assembly in the next week or two. Several members worked on repairing the midfield wind sock and replacing the hangar flag.
Sunday was our first first day of flights. We had 12 winch launches utilizing 2-33 Stars & Stripes and getting releases at around 1000-1200 feet agl. A couple of our newer members took full advantage and are making nice progress toward their ground launch endorsement. Thanks to Tim and Kees for operating the winch. It was a cool, but fun day!
Our 182 Towplane is active again starting tomorrow so we should be able to begin offering aerotow checkouts next weekend, weather permitting. Stay tuned for updates…
