Saturday is looking to be a sunny and warm day-a good day for my spring check out flight.  Are any tow pilots and instructors willing to commit to come out?

Anyone else interested in flying on Saturday??

Sorry to say that the Pawnee tow
plane will not be available to fly until it has a transponder
check. That work is scheduled for Tuesday, April 6.

We can Winch.  Who can come out?
Speak up and let everyone know if you can come out.  I will operate the winch and train a new winch driver.

I’ll be out. Also need to assemble Lark and bring 1-26 from the remote hanger.

Remember, you will need to have a fully trained crew for winch ops.

The only glider currently available for the winch is the 2-33. However, before flight it will need a thorough cleaning after sitting outside all winter. A type of mold or fungus is growing on it which will need to be removed as it is eating the paint. Also, a critical assembly check, lubing of all moving parts and a comprehensive preflight inspection.

Other jobs include getting the 1-26 out of hangar storage, inspected and lubed.  Installing the new canopy on the Krosno, inspecting and lubing.  Getting the PW-5 out of storage and anchoring the trailer.

As you can see we have much work to do, may I suggest a work crew on Saturday. 😉

in addition to all the above-mentioned glider Prep work, a winch Ground school long-briefing retraining of us should be done before restarting this type of Op.I know I need it, as I did very little winching, & there were only 34 club winch launches in 2020.

      I’m a little dissapointed.

I would have expected more members to speak up and say they intend to show up on Saturday.  If we get enough people there, we can do all the assembly in the morning and winch after lunch.

Speak up!  Let us know if you can help out.
