If its not too late, if any of SSI’s certified instructors , or Flight Chair, are making any presentations at the Safety meeting, I would like to ask if there can be reviews of some safety circumstances (scenario-based) specific to our Field Ops. Such as, multiple gliders in need of the landing pattern: when more than one XC flights all end, and basic instruction short-flights are still going on. Another is the “out and back” T.O. and Ldg method, which is specific to SSI.

Thanks to John Baker, our FASTeam Representative, members that attend the Spring Safety meeting will be awarded WINGS Knowledge Credits. This credit can be used towards your Flight Review Knowledge Credits. As you know, Sky Soaring instructors only do flight reviews through WINGS. We no longer do the the 1 hour ground and 3 flights.
Be sure to ask your instructor to award you WINGS Flight Activity credits after completing your Spring Checkout flights. All Sky Soaring members should have a WINGS account. If not, go to http://www.faasafety.gov and create an account.

Hello:
Dennis- a good topic to bring up. One item that I see often at Sky Soaring is some pilots are allergic to using the radio and do not say much or announce when they are on the way in. A FREE course from the Kings is: KingSchools.com/Non-Tower-Comm that could help. Communication is necessary and that is why there are radios built into many of the club gliders. The radios are there to use, not as extra weight.
Regards,
Rich
