Another great day at 55LL

A total of 18 flights on a beautiful day. Whats special about that? There was a total flight time of 15.4 hours! And a great time was had by all.

Adding on to Friday and Saturday, Sunday was another fantastic day at Sky Soaring.   We had another 26 flights today, bringing the weekend total to 64!  We started early and ended late.  New member Steve Kowall, had his first flights today after last flying gliders in Hinckley nearly 20 years ago.  Several private ships had muli-hour flights, but the highlight of the day was Junior Member, Erik Schnaubelt, who flew the club PW-5 for nearly 5.5 hours and earned his Silver Duration award in the process.  Big Congrats to Erik!  Thanks to Don for towing and to Steve S. and Tim P. for instructing.    June is here, so lets keep flying!

Indeed congrats to Erik.  He is setting a very high bar for the other SSI members.

I would hope one of the execs takes his photo with the PW-5 and sends it in to the SSA magazine!
