New Tow Pilots Guide Rev 1.0

Hello SSI Tow Pilots,

The newly created Sky Soaring Tow Pilots Guide, Revision 1.0, is complete and has been uploaded to the Sky Soaring website in the SSI File’Docs section. The direct link is posted below.

The guide is required reading for all current and future tow pilots at Sky Soaring.  We have adopted this policy with the recent purchase of the Pawnee.  I want to thank Caesar Creek Soaring Club for allowing us to adapt their guide for our use. They have operated Pawnee’s for many years and currently have 3 of them.

We have also created a new Chief Tow Pilot position.  The Chief Tow Pilot will be one of the 3 members of the Flight Committee.  He/she will report to the Flight Committee Chairman.  SSI member John Scott is the current CTP.  All tow pilots will report to the CTP.  More details about the CTP position are available in the guide.

At the upcoming elections a new FCC will be elected and he will nominate a new CTP for the coming year and one other member to serve on that committee.  If you are interested to serve on the Flight Committee please be sure to attend the club meeting this coming week and make it know that you are willing to serve. If you cannot make the meeting, please advise anyone on the board and they can nominate you for a position.
