Thursday Wrap Up

Well a good day it was. Don Grillo covered 90 miles in 2.5 hours. I hit a new all time high altitude (for myself) of 9700 msl. That wasn’t cloud base, as I saw a few heavies below the clouds and wanted plenty of room for observation, just in case. The only real challenge to the day was getting up from down low. I found thermals rough and broken from 2000 to about 5000 agl. Once above 5000 lift was fairly smooth.
