Don Grillo and I have been talking about the soaring forecast for this week. Thursday looks to be the best day with low winds, sunny skies and higher temperatures. Mon-Tues-Wed will be sunny but very windy but these three days of wind and sun should dry out the fields and make Thursday more likely to produce good thermal activity. I imagine the farmers will be out harvesting this week which can also help. Every been at 5,000 feet and seen a piece of a corn stalk float by in the same thermal? I have. Really something to experience.
So the question is – who wants to come out and play? We need a tow pilot and a wing runner at a minimum. Pretty please with sugar on top?
Come join the fun!

I believe I can help Ops for Thurs., (sorry on late reply)
Can aero-tow if required. But would like to get at least 1 soaring flight in by 4pm, …could tow private-ship members first.

We had a total of ten flights today by eight different PICs.
While the soaring was iffy, it was a nice fall day to be out at the field. At the conclusion of the day the 182 was cleaned up and the hangar flying commenced.
Thanks to John Baker and Larry Kase for instruction. Thanks to Denny Burke and John Scott for towing.
