        Tomorrow may very well be the last day of flying for the 2023 season.  There are several resons for this;

        – The 10-day forecasted weather outlook for the remainder of the month looks pretty bleak.

        – The Pawnee may be taken out of service soon for the repair of its gas tank.

        – The re-grading of the runway mentioned in an earlier email has been approved by the board and may start very soon.  During this work the runway will be NOTAM’d closed for safety.

        COME ON OUT!

        – John DeRosa

          I’ll be out tomorrow (sunday) around 9 am unless we all want to get things going earlier.

            Hello:

            I will be out.  What time is start time?  The past Sundays did not get going to around noon.  Do we have a tow pilot?  I can be wing runner and GSO as long as I get 1 flight in.

            Sunday:  Patchy frost before 8am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 56. North wind at 5 mph.

            Regards,

            Rich

                Hello:

                Do we have the number of flights for yesterday? The flight sheet was full on the first page.  It was a nice day with very little wind.  Speaking of wind, the next 2 days will be windy with gusts up to 30 mph.  Its sad to see the season ending.

                Regards,

                Rich

                          Here’s the videos and pictures I got from Trigg’s and DJ’s solos Sunday. The original videos and pictures (best resolution) are only available for 2 days on the Samsung share drive download links. Make sure you download them if you want to keep them!

                            I only caught Trigg’s flight so no pictures of DJ on my camera, but big congrats to both boys on a huge accomplishment! And thanks to the instructors, primarily Mark and Gary, with assistance from Don and John Scott, perhaps others as well, and to Nick for all those tows!PS-The last picture is one of what I like to see at Sky Soaring. The tow plane taking off with glider in tow, the other 2-33 about to be pulled into position, and the Krozno and a private glider waiting in line for their turn. A pretty great fall day at the airport!
